Fees are always established with a return on investment in mind. In some cases, the work is driving profit that can be measured. In other cases, we are performing responsibilities that one of your staff may have performed in the past.
The most difficult situations are when a direct link between our work and a ROI is difficult to establish. In these cases, there is usually anecdotal information that allows a measurement of success. We will maintain ongoing communication and review to make sure we are meeting our objectives.
When we invest in our business, we anticipate the investment to provide a multiple of our fees. Your expectations should be the same. For every $1,000 in fees charged, we expect a multiple of 2x or greater to end up in your bank account. Fortunately, we are usually able to do better.
